GOD DOES NOT CONDEMN

There is a common pattern in the ministry of Jesus that I recently discovered; and that is Jesus never condemned those He ministered to. Throughout the Gospels of Matthew through John, I saw Jesus dealing mercifully with the “so called sinners” whom He ministered to. The Pharisees and Sadducees were different though, even His disciples questioned Jesus about the sin the parents of the young blind man had committed. In all these, Jesus never condemned them, instead He ministered salvation, healing and He delivered them.

Let’s cite a few examples of Jesus mercy and compassion

  • The taxpayers were known crooks -yet Jesus dined and fellowshipped with Him. In fact, some of them became His disciples (Matthew 9:9-10)
  • On the blind young man, the disciples thought he has sinned from birth, but Jesus said no sin had nothing to do with and healed him (John 9:1-2)
  • Jesus pardoned the woman who was caught in adultery saying “neither do I condemn you, sin no more (John 8:11)
  • Martha who washed Jesus feet with perfume and her hair apparently had a bad rap sheet in the community, but she ended up serving Jesus throughout His ministry (Luke 7:37-38)
  • I can go on, with the woman at the well, the demoniac in Gerasene etc.

If you are going through something right now and you feel as though God is condemning or punishing you, that is not true. Not long ago I was approached by two pastors who believed that the adversities that their spouses and children faced were punishment and condemnation from God. I can’t forget an experience in the recent mission in Africa where a lady came to be prayed for healing and as we ministered, she kept saying “Oh God forgive me, forgive me”, yet she was a born-again believer.

Anyone who condemns or reminds you of your sins or faults operates with a demonic spirit. Controlling, manipulative and insecure people will do this. A religious spirit often condemns; satan is also good at reminding people of their faults, sins or failures. Stay away from people who put you down who constantly remind you of your faults no matter and how “spiritual” they are. Condemnation is a strategy the devil and people use to keep you from progressing. Condemnation is a hinderance that has both spiritual and natural(life) implications.

So, should we continue sinning because God does not condemn? The answer is NO! Whenever you sin, repent right away and receive forgiveness immediately. No, that God is Love, He is merciful and compassionate. God always wants the positive for you not the negative.

Consider these Scriptures: – I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore, I have drawn you with lovingkindness (Jeremiah 31:3). Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28); There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit (Romans 8:1) if the Jesus  sets you free, you will be free indeed(John 8:36)

No matter how bad it is, with God it is pardonable. God does not condemn!

HAVE A “JESUS MEETING”

My favorite TV shows are those that involve renovations and transformations. I can watch the show “Overhaul” and “HGTV” all day. I also love the “Street Racing” show- I guess just the thrill of seeing how dangerous the guys can drive. Recently while watching these shows I heard a phrase that was said in two distinct shows; surprisingly this was my first-time hearing about a “Jesus Meeting”.

These TV shows involve a team or collaborating with others. When disagreements and misunderstandings occurred in the team, they called for a “Jesus Meeting! A Jesus Meeting is where all is laid on the table without reservations and conflicts are addressed then resolutions are made. It’s a come clean, transparency, let’s deal with this meeting!

I then pondered on how frequent we need these meetings with the Lord. As believers, we often try to withhold stuff from the Lord because we think some are too small or irrelevant for Him. God saved all parts of you and He wants all parts of you. So, feel free to share everything with Him. God is a loving God who does not judge or condemn. In fact, He sees the depths of our hearts and knows our prayers even before we pray. Tell God exactly how you feel, how angry you are, how frustrated it is, how happy you are, how excited you are; just be real with Him. Trust me, Jesus understands every emotion; He went through them.

Jesus Meetings are also beneficial when you cannot obtain breakthrough in an area or when we experience repeated negative patterns. Consider coming to Jesus with a Lord enough of this, let’s deal with this attitude! Through prayer, consider asking the Holy Spirit to show you the source of the issue. God sees all things – His exposure will help steer the prayers strategically for the needed breakthrough.

Finally, prolonged undressed conflicts or misunderstands pull us further apart. As believers we are a community of one another.  The Bible directs that we agree with our adversary quickly (Matthew 5:25). Confessing our sins to one another and forgiving one another brings healing (James 5:16). Do your best to address conflicts respectful and prayerfully in a timely manner (Ephesians 4:26-27). Best is to have your own Jesus Meeting for repentance and clean you need to do personally then for direction on how to approach the conflict before meeting with the person you need to meet with.

This week consider the areas you need to bring to the “Jesus Meeting”. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you those areas first in your personal life, then to those you need to address. Transparency with God and with others is essential in our Love walk in Christ.

LIVING AS THOUGH GOD IS FOR YOU

Lately I have been reflecting on Romans 8:31 which says, “If God is for us, who can against us”. Then I though surely what would I do differently daily know that God is for me?

The truth is God never changes, His promises are sure. So, God means it when He says He is for you. God does not lie, and He cannot change His mind (Numbers 23:19.) Furthermore, Jesus says in, behold I am with you always, I will never leave you or forsake you. I am with you to the end (Matthew 28:20, Deuteronomy 31.8.). So surely if you knew that God is for you right now, what could you do differently? Can you evaluate your situation right now and picture God right there with you? Ephesians 2:4-7 says we are seated in heavenly places with Jesus Christ. This is pretense tense, meaning right now Jesus is with you!

I challenge you this week to live as though God is right there with you. Pursue life with boldness and courage. Dream big and engage God in your dreams. Since you are that close with Him anyway, ask for His guidance, ask God what you do not understand. Ask Him about the past, the present and the future. Make the Holy Spirit your personal consultant! Pursue your dreams and destiny with faith and tenacity.

Pursue life! Live to the fullest knowing that God is for you and nothing- I mean nothing will separate Him from loving you. Go forth and conquer, unleash the potential in you. You are already guaranteed victory through Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:57). Look at the situation at tell it “GOD IS FOR ME” because it is true; GOD IS FOR YOU!

WEAR RED WITH PRIDE-GOD ACCEPTS YOU

Among the common things that every person wants are love, acceptance, affirmation, a sense of security and protection. If you look closely, even the most hateful person craves for these. Today as I dressed in red in recognition of Valentine’s Day, a thought flashed through my mind. I recognized that the Blood of Jesus made us acceptable to God.

Acceptance is the opposite of rejection or denial. As you dress yourself in red this week/month, consider that you have been reconciled to God through the Blood of Jesus. It is also through the same Blood that God says that nothing, not event your sins and failures will separate you from His Love, This new identity came with total wholeness. Shame, guilt and condemnation were all removed, Romans 8:1, Isaiah 1:18

Acceptance also means belonging. The red in the Blood of Jesus welcomes you to union and communion with God. You have been transposed into a new family; the family of God. It is the family of the new covenant, an inheritance that you now share. . Now we have been grafted in. We belong. Romans 11:1

Consider the red that you are wearing as the Blood that restored your identity in God. Through the Blood of Jesus, you are a royalty, seated with Christ in high places, a conqueror, a royal priesthood, a peculiar person, set apart for Him. In Psalm 139 and Colossians 2:9-10 among other Scriptures show the fullness of your identity in Christ

The Blood of Jesus empowers you, the Blood speaks for you, the Blood fights for you, and the Blood of Jesus overcomes for you! RED=THE BLOOD OF JESUS

The Blood has afforded NONDISCRIMINATORY ACCEPTANCE. We can be bold to say that GOD IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY FATHER & LOVER. He continues to accept us just as we are. He is a respecter of no person. In Christ there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise, Galatians 3:28-29

Wear red with pride this season. You are the accepted of the Lord. Happy valentine’s week!
