DO NOT DRAG THEM WITH YOU

I get excited over most things and often in my excitement, I am quick to share the experience. This was a habit six years ago; I used to share quite a lot with people I thought were open to my insights until I learned the hard way that they were least interested. Well, I have been discovering some interesting stuff lately and I have been tempted to share the information until I heard in my spirit, “do not share that now, don’t drag them with you.”

You see each person is at different stage of being processed by God, so we cannot assume that everyone is where we are, and they should get what we have. Everyone is in some form of process in their walk with God. Instead, we should celebrate and encourage each other in whatever stage we are in our spiritual walk and in life.  To include someone in your process will only lead to frustration on your part but it may lead discord. It also borders on control. On the other hand, not everyone will want to join or share your journey; it will be like pulling a sack uphill, that can be tiring. There are lessons God will want you to keep secret and there are experiences God will want you to endure alone. I bet God does this to test us, to develop our character and to wait until the information is well formed in us to be delivered at the appropriate time.

In this season if friends do not respond when relationships end; that’s fine. Take courage. Not everyone is supposed to journey with you to your promise land. Abraham had to separate from Lot, see Genesis 13: 5-18. This story is critical because it shows a separation of two people who were very close to one another.

The journey to the promise land may require separating from close friends, things and environments that you were used to. It okay to journey alone because God will never leave you. Remember also, that each person is in process that is quite unique to yours. Just enjoy your journey, if God meant for them to be where you are, they will, but don’t force them or pull them uphill. You will hurt yourself. Don’t drag past experiences either, behold God is doing a new thing in this season, Isaiah 43:19.

THE STRENGTH OF YOUR PAST

Occasionally, life will present with some of the most challenging things. This is not negative thinking, it just the nature of life. Part of these experiences are also meant to mature us and prune us in our life journey. But there moments when things can just hit hard. Such moments can cause us to question ourselves, beat ourselves up, revert to self-pity and even question God.

Psalm 77 in its entirety is an example of fellow human like you and I who was pushed there by “life”. Asaph wrote this Psalm; he wrote it in 4 sections. In the first part, he cries in desperate anguish about his problems. In the second section, he gets into questioning God, but in the upcoming sections Asaph remembers his past; how God intervened mightily to deliver them. Asaph concludes his agonizing prayer with expressions of God’s power and strength.
You may be there right now. You may be experiencing what humanly seems impossible. You could be in the worst place you “think” you’ve been; but I encourage to recall remember your past. Remember the last thing the Lord brought you out of -draw your strength from that!

Remember the last-minute breakthrough, remember the answer or provision that came at the nick of time. When you had no food, and someone dropped off grocery, when you had no tuition, but the registrar allowed you to take classes, when you applied for visas and at the tenth application you got one. When your vehicle got repossessed, but you still got one, when you had invested all in a lover who used you instead; God kept your sanity and walked you through restoration.

God is still very much involved in your affairs even in the times of adversity. Satan will target when you are emotionally down with whispers such as God has left you, this is it, there is no way out, you better quit, this is too much…to get you to believe these lies. That how he got Eve sin. Once you believe the lie, unbelief sets in. Unbelief will often lead to sin.

Secondly, satan’s main goal is to steal, kill and destroy. This is how vicious satan is. You may think he would stop at killing- oh no, he is determined to destroy after he is done killing. You see the death that satan aims at is not limited to physical death. Satan aims to kill and destroy your emotions, your ability to think, your ability to plan, your finances, your focus, your health…ultimately, he wants to destroy and kill your IDENTITY and your DESTINY. When satan can make you believe that you are not what God made you to be… next he will want to destroy your purpose and destiny because you cannot pursue purpose/destiny when you don’t know who you are! That is where identity crisis comes in.

Third-When satan feeds you false beliefs about yourself and you believe them, it will affect your emotions. Eventually this will lead to depression. Depression kills your joy, Depression destroys emotionally, mentally, physically and other aspects of life. Do not feed into satan’s whispers of low self-worth, of defeat, of failure, the list goes on. God’s go the whole world in His hands, Come On!. The Joy of the Lord is your STRENGTH. The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and JOY IN THE HOLY SPIRIT. Receive the Holy Spirit. Receive JOY!

Remember the power of God. Remember the Voice of the Lord that shatters the cedars, shakes the wilderness and divides the flames of fire-Psalm 29.

This week focus on the strength of your past. When life’s challenges come, draw your strength and courage from the last thing God did for you. Draw faith and confidence from God’s power. We overcome by the Blood and the Word of YOUR, yes, your own testimony-Revelation 12:11. There is strength in your past

Jeremiah 32:27 -Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for Me?

EVERY DAY IS A NEW DAY

All weekly blogs are personal experiences that I often have way before the day they are posted. Some though are very fresh like this one. Hope you will be encouraged through this one as well. Yesterday, I had such hectic day at work with demands coming from all ends; one of them involved dealing with a very challenging person. The person’s attitude was rude, unprofessional, angry etc., etc., blah, blah, blah.

Initially, I just wanted to “give it to them” in fact I even proposed submitting a compliant about the person’s behavior. The other issue though, is that I started developing “anticipation anxiety or strategies about how to deal with the person for the rest of the week. I allowed myself to strategize during the night, but every strategy was inconclusive. In fact the more I strategize, the more frustrated I got. I knew this would affect my prayer time and peace so I decided to submit it to prayer

As I prayed, God gave me the strategy, in fact He showed me that the person was hurting and that the person’s identity was wrapped up in their profession. That the best approach was to love and honor the person, with understanding that the person may not acknowledge the love or honor. 1 Corinthians 13 on Love, Galatians 5:22 on the Fruit of Spirit and Colossians 4:6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone, gave me a totally new meaning to be being Light in darkness. Danny Silk’s book on A Culture of Honor also came to mind

As I compared the yesterday from today, I concluded that EVERY DAY IS A NEW DAY. We may strategize and anticipate the future but God in His love gives us grace to face each day afresh. We cannot take yesterday’s plans into today. God’s mercy and loving kindness are new every morning. We receive FRESH MANNA EACH DAY. DO NOT GO INTO A NEW DAY WITH THE OLD. Each day has its own special anointing

Lesson-Never let a person’s bad day ruin your day. You have the authority to dictate how to react to everything. Choose peace at all costs. Every new day is a day to start a fresh- BLOG BACK PLEASE

BARRICADES MUST BE REMOVED

This week’s blog is a continuation of last week’s. You may recall, last week we spoke about speed bumps-the bumps of life. Bumps are what we must climb over to get to our destination (purpose or goals). Like speed bumps, we cannot remove the bumps or bypass them, often there are no shoulder spaces for bumps. We must just obey the speed limits and drive over them while remaining focused on the goal.

Unlike bumps, barricades though must be dealt with directly. They require physical action-removing them to proceed. Some may require changing the course/route As believers though, we face spiritual barricades. They may include false beliefs, negativity, wrong perception, spiritual attacks. Review the following types of barricades. Can you identify with any of them?

Barricades-These are obstacles. Their placements always demand a detour; some long route that takes you in the backroads of places you never knew existed in your neighborhood. If you know you need to be on other side of the road to your goal, such barricades are to be removed, torn down and destroyed while still maintaining focus on the road. This too requires staying on the road and keeping your eyes focused on the destination

Barricades Type-2- This occurs when God shuts the door. He ends what you are familiar with or stops you while you are on road forcing you to take a detour so that you can learn some new things. If you pass God’s training, you will resume the journey. If do not, you will repeat the training.

Barricade Type-3 God may also place a barricade to protect you if He sees you have not matured yet to attain that goal. OR

Barricade Type 4– He may place barricades as He waits to for the RIGHT TIMING to advance you. The story of Joseph in the Bible is a good example

We are in a season where God is ASCENDING the Church. This means we are moving upwards spiritually, naturally and emotionally. Picture that you are climbing a mountain and you need to reach the submit for the gold medal. What are you currently facing? A Bump or a Barricade. If a Barricade, what Type? OR are you back on the road?

Either way this week-Fight the good fight of faith like a good solder. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules.2 Timothy 3b-4

BEAT UNBELIEF

In you are in the mid-west or mid-Atlantic region it can be difficult to imagine that better weather is coming. Temperatures a frigid right now, one would wish for the heat wave. While winter stays true to itself, say hopeful that spring and summer are on the way. Stay hopeful that what God said will come to pass

Stay hopeful that God has heard your prayers. Stay hopeful that the marriage will work out. Stay hopeful that the runaway child will return home. Stay hopeful that you will get the right job. Stay hopeful that your breakthrough will come through.

I have come to learn that Unbelief is the number one enemy to a believer, followed by Satan. Fear, anxiety, insecurity, pride, arrogance, compromise, settling for second best, manipulation, control, witchcraft , jealousy, strife, anger, gossip, slander, rationalization and self -dependence, all stem from unbelief

Unbelief is what caused the Israelites to delay entering the promise land. Unbelief is what causes us to miss resting in Jesus; yes-we can rest in peace while still alive here on earth. This happens when we come to total surrender in Jesus, embracing His love and allowing the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

This week, take time to evaluate any issue that triggers, fear, faith, anger or anything that causes you to act contrary, examine your fruits (actions and words), could it be unbelief? If so fight it with this Scripture in mind as long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night Genesis 8:22. God will bring you the expected outcome, only trust Him. Jeremiah 29:11

YOU HAVE TAKEN OFF OR ALREADY IN MID AIR-STAY IN TRANSIT

I have realized that the Lord speaks to me so often but I tend to miss the conversations because they happen in “odd” places when my mind is thinking about something completely unrelated to what the Lord is saying. In my ignorance, I’ve shortened these conversations.

Among them was a conversation about “moving with God to higher dimensions. These conversations occurred in the grocery store, the other occurred while I was opening a door to a building. Same subject, two settings. This past weekend, God continued the conversation through a speaker at a conference saying, “you have grown a strong backbone in 2017, now move forward in 2018”

2018 is about moving forward in God’s strength and power to pursue a greater measure of destiny. There are things that we entertained in 2017, we cannot take into 2018 because we have grown past them. Do you best to rise above offenses, misunderstandings, criticism, false accusations, hurts and setbacks. Do your best to avoid unproductive discussions, company and unproductive conflicts. Recently, I was encouraged by Dr. Bill Johnson. He said there are just some discussions he does not engage in; in fact, he excuses himself from them because they are opinions that unfounded in God’s Word and add no value to a person. Nothing should move you. Don’t engage in pettiness, you have either taken off or already in midair for greater purposes in 2018.

You see when a plane takes off, it reaches a point of “no return”. At this point, the plane only has one option –to take off. Once in the midair it also have 2 options to ascend to higher heights or to land. In both cases, take off and midair, the plane cannot go into reverse! It cannot backtrack. Complacent people, will frustrate you because they are comfortable with where they are. New things startle them. They will back track you with pettiness, offenses, nonsense that add no value to your destiny. Rise above them

Like an eagle, face the eye of the storm head on, embrace the lift. Keep your eyes focused on the vision God has given you. Stand tall in 2018, you have a strong backbone. You have taken off. You are already in midair approaching the next altitude. Stay in transit. Pretty soon you will land the plane. Your vision will manifest.

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:13

SELF-SARBOTAGE

This happens to be the most self-destructive habit that impacts our destinies and God ordained purposes. Self-Sabotage is a debatable issue but I’m convinced we cannot blame satan for this one.

Self –sabotage occurs when we fail to commit to what we purposed to do for ourselves. Often it manifests in avoiding taking risks, being extremely calculated, procrastination, doubt, fear of success, refusing or not seeking counsel, failure to follow through on opportunities or leads, focusing on the wrong things, avoidance to diligently indulge in the right thing for the season and a pattern of distraction or starting and not stopping and being in a constant merry-go-round

Commit to the Lord whatever you do and He will establish your plans (Proverbs 16:3). Whereas prayer is essential, there a part that we must play and that is putting into action what we have prayed for. These are faith-generated actions that should produce fruits.

Sharing from experience, I have experienced the strength of the Holy Spirit in helping me accomplish personal goals, including not so complex ones like completing household chores. Often I pray, Holy Spirit help me accomplish the tasks for this day. Normally they are accomplished or the Holy Spirit will provide strategies to accomplish a lot in a short time.

This week, take time for self –evaluation. Review your goals for the year or review your vision. Do this for all areas, family, school, children, work etc. See if you have sabotaged any areas by your actions. Take full responsibility, then repent. After which ask the Holy Spirit for strength, wisdom and direction to accomplish them. Commit to the Lord whatever you do and He will establish your plans. Let us also pray that God open our eyes to see and seize opportunities. It is not by our strength, but the Holy Spirit. Let us tap onto the Holy Spirit to combat self-sabotage. We must live the fullness of our destinies here on earth in Jesus Name Amen!

FIRST STEPS

Most parents savor this moment; the very first time their child takes the first step walk. In fact, some parents are saddened when this occurs in their absence. Other parents even video tape and save this occasion for future reference. And aww, you should see the joyous expressions of the parents when this happens. Priceless!

I believe God reacts in the same way when we take the first step towards our destinies and the plans He has for us. Whether it’s child or a calf, instinctly, they sense they should walk after being born. You see, this current life requires faith and obedience. God rarely shows us the end from the beginning, although that is His Name, but God sees the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10). We see this with Moses and with Abraham. In addition to walking by faith, God made provision for them as they kept on walking.

God has already gifted you with what you need in life. You do not need to see the clear picture or perfect what God has given you to act. My encouragement to you this week is to use what you have and take the first step. As you step out, God will bring additional provision. He will protect and preserve everything that pertains you (Psalm 84:10-12, Psalm 85:10-13). You don’t have to get it perfect to step out. Apply that mustard seed faith, move and activate what is in you.

Matthew 17:20-He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Take the first step

WALK IT THRU’ ALONE. IT’S OK. IT’S ONLY SEASONAL

We are in an era where there is a quest for belonging and association. Most people are in clicks or longing to be part of a click. Most are seeking for spiritual fathers, spiritual mothers and mentors. There is a heighted sense for affirmation and association. Some are looking to others for promotion, advancement and popularity. The thought of pursuing destiny alone scares many. My encouragement to you this week is that you are not alone, take courage and endure solitude just a little while longer.

Whenever God had a greater plan for someone, He rarely called them the in couples or in large groups. God always called each person independently. Consider these:
•God called Abraham independently. Even when Abraham chose Lot, God’s divine inheritance was revealed to Abraham immediately following his separation from Lot.
•Noah was called independently concerning the Ark
•Joseph to be separated by his brothers to preserve Israel later independently
•Moses was called independently and though assigned Aaron, God always spoke to Moses alone
•David was chosen by God in the wideness and He related to God independently
•Consider the independent callings of Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel and Gideon
•Jesus was called independently; God sent His Own Son. Consider Daniel’s life or Deborah’s call to war.
•The Apostle Paul was called independently

If you notice from that list, whomever God called, He also instructed directly. Rarely did these people rely on mentors, spiritual fathers or mothers. They did not have publicists. God was their publicists, through signs, wonders and victories! They were called, taught and directed by God and the Holy Spirit. That said they also knew the voice and ways of God. They obtained revelation and wisdom from God independently.

When God calls, at the foundational levels of destiny matters, from personal experience, it is very common that God will want you to be alone with Him. 99.99% of spiritual training and connections is done by God through the Holy Spirit. 0.00001% is done through divine persons. Endure the time alone, because it’s seasonal. When the appointed time comes, God will connect you to the right mentors and people towards accomplishing your destiny. Jesus retrieved to be alone, then later chose his disciples. Paul was called alone, he retrieved to for over 14 years, then returned to be embraced by the apostles and to be partnered with Barnabas, Timothy, Titus, Mark, Apollos and others to spread this Gospel that we Gentiles now enjoy.

While in solitude with God, He is preparing you for a greater impact! Look at Abraham, David, Jesus and Paul. While in solitude, remember this; surely Jesus is with you always, even to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:20

AUDACIOUS ASKING

Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him. What is it you want?” he asked. She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom. “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup I am going to drink? “We can,” they answered.esus said to them, “You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.” When the ten heard about this, they were indignant with the two brothers. Matthew 20:20-28

While listening to these scriptures this week, I was encouraged by the audacity of this mother. She knew what she wanted for her sons and she cut through the source and went to the Giver. I’m sure in her days, there were cultural constraints, religious laws and even worse, Jesus was surrounded by 12 disciples let’s say 12 armor bearers, but she did not care, she pressed through and boldly asked the Lord. Guess what, her request was granted!

Since 2014 the Lord has continually instructed me to JUST ASK, DO THE ASKING. I sense that there is more and greater things God wants to do in and with us and to also give us, if we only ask!

From the scriptures, the other 10 disciples were offended after the 2 were granted their requests. Actually as I read, I laughed thinking, all 10 of them were right there with Jesus, all they had to do is ask also, why take offense?. This brought me to think about contentions and strife within the Body of Christ and amongst believers, all we need to do is ask. To curb coventiouness and envy in all areas of our lives, all we have to do ask the Lord.

As you see in the Scriptures, Jesus first said yes to some things, “it’s not in my place to grant” in other things, and to some things He will tell you NO. We too have free access to Jesus; the heavens are constantly open for our access. All we have to do is ASK. So this week ask audaciously, ask boldly, ask without limitations, and ASK BIG!
