GOD RESPONDS TO HUNGER

While browsing the search engine for the spelling of Zacchaeus, I came across the images of Zacchaeus and his encounter with Lord. You can see why the spelling search was necessary. In Swahili he would be called Zakayo which is very easy to spell. Anyway, I took interest in the images and was pleased to finally see how Zacchaeus looked like.

In some images, you could see the Jesus depicted looking at Zacchaeus and summoning him to come down the tree and head to his home for dinner. I took interest Zacchaeus physical features; he was short, most people around him were taller, his vision was obscured, due to his physique, he may have struggled climbing up a tree, but he was determined to see the Lord. Zacchaeus was Hungry for God.

Jesus in turn noticed Zacchaeus and asked to dine with him. There are a few lessons to learn from this encounter; the main one being that God responds to our hunger. Our sins and imperfections do not matter and should not be a hindrance to seek God. Though a tax collector which was deemed worse sinners then, Zacchaeus was determined to see Jesus. As long as there is a true genuine hunger for an encounter with Him, God will respond.

Zacchaeus’s next encounter was dinner and fellowship with Jesus. Hunger draws us close to God- intimacy at a personal level with God. Throughout the Gospels, it was very rare for Jesus to have met people without teaching them, healing or delivering them. So, this hunger-bred intimacy results in revelation and insight from the Lord. Luke 19:1 -26 Salvation, Healings and deliverances can take place in private one on one encounters with God also.

Lastly, the effects of the hunger results in repentance and it also draws others to Jesus. Zacchaeus and his entire household were impacted by Jesus’s visit. Jesus even exclaimed; “today salvation has come to this house”. Personal encounters with God, should then leave us hungry to impact others. I strongly believe that we encounter God privately in order to impact many. Spiritual gifts and natural talents are not just given by God for us to feel happy about them, get slain by them, have all the gold dust we can have just for “having sake” Each gift, each impartation; each encounter is given so that we can impact many others. But it all starts with HUNGER.

This week pray for the hunger of God. Ask God to fill you with hunger for more revelation of who He is to you. Ask God and invite the Holy Spirit to come and dine with you. Set time to be alone with God. Seek God and the rest will be added. Hunger for more of God. He will respond.

LORD DELIVER US FROM DEMONIC ASSIGNMENTS

Jesus in Luke 10:18- 19 says, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you….

While in prayer a few ago I saw the words; demonic assignments-distractions. As I pondered on them, I heard the Holy Spirit say distractions are demonic assignments.

Have you ever committed to a goal or task and just when you are about to pursue you find yourself heavily involved in something completely unrelated to your purpose. Most of these things may not be sinful in nature, in fact they may appear worthwhile and in line with your calling or destiny, yet in other sense they are not.

On the other hand they can also present as something that steals your joy, peace and inflict pain, unrest, confusion or frustration. In here you may notice harassing spirits, instigating, and intimidating spirits. These cause major havoc and they can really side track you to delay, slow you down or utterly distract you. Before you know it, you will be like “how in the world did I get here…..? or What was I thinking?

Examples of demonic assignments include, getting involved with someone you should not be involved with, participating in a conversation or debate you had no business being part of, pursuing a business venture or association that you hesitate being part of, being coaxed to belong or do something yet you do out being “nice” not wanting to make them “feel bad”

Because of this, it is not safe to gear prayer one sided. Staying in fellowship with the Holy Spirit will alert you to impeding danger. Spiritual warfare prayer then should become an integral part of daily and regular prayer. I call this; ensuring all areas are covered. While there, rebuke every demonic assignment and its effects on the past present or future. Rebuke and destroy the plots of assignments to come, assignments for the week and even for the month. Pray in advance of the adversity or distraction

So this week we are praying- God in the authority of the Name of Jesus and through the power of the Holy Spirit in us, we cancel every demonic assignments in our lives. We renounce and revoke their effects on our lives. We destroy their plots and divert the paths of their agents to dry places. We reclaim our destiny and assignments and place them on schedule. Lord let your will from heaven be done concerning our assignments on earth right now in Jesus Name. Amen

GOD MAY YOUR AGENDA MATCH MINE

This title can be applied interchangeably as Lord may my agenda match yours, when you reflect on the promise that God already has a plan for each us, and it’s a plan to give us hope and future. Jeremiah 29:11

If you are a planner, it’s likely that at the start of each week or day, you have an idea what you must do or accomplish. Your “to do list “or goals you should achieve. This “Agenda” slipped out of my mouth last week after devotions followed by a confession” Lord may my agenda match yours this week”.

It dawned on me that since God has already outlined our plans, there could be stuff He had planned for us to be accomplish on a weekly basis. This could be a new venture or what we need to start, whom we should connect with, what we should receive or avoid and what we should do. There could be people we need to meet visions we need to unveil and purposes we need to unroll based on His timetable

Psalms 37:23 says the steps of a good man or woman are ordered by the Lord: and He delights in his /her way. Are there things God wants us to guide us into this week, tonight or even tomorrow?

Think of it, if God already has an individual plan for each us and He is also guiding our steps, He may have something on His agenda for us on a weekly or daily basis. As we approach mid-week, ask God to show you His agenda for you. Ask Him to restructure your agenda to align with His.

God’s eyes are on you- He says, I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you. Psalm 32:8

NEWS FLASH, RECEIVE YOUR NEED

The beauty of partnership with the Holy Spirit is that He provides continuous growth. Some occupations require ongoing educational credits (CEUs) to maintain validation of the occupation. As Christians, this ongoing education is provided by the Holy Spirit. Among these credits, is knowledge and understanding how God responds to His promises when we appropriate them accordingly

Among the promises are; ask and you shall receive (Matthew 7:7-8); God does not withhold any good thing to His children(Psalm 84:11); God has already supplied us with every spiritual and physical need(Matthew 6:25-34), all we have to do is to RECEIVE THEM!

Praying from this perspective requires a MINDSET CHANGE and a TONGUE (Confession) CHANGE. You see at the cross, Jesus said it was finished! Isaiah 53:5 relays that finished work. So in prayer, we no longer beg or plead, WE RECEIVE
•If sick –we pray Lord I receive Your healing
·If bound or oppressed-we pray Lord I receive You deliverance
·If you slipped-Lord I receive your forgives( 1John 1:9, Psalm 103:12)
·If condemned/feeling quilt- Lord I receive my freedom(Romans 8:1)
·If worried-Lord I receive a sound mind, peace and joy (2 Timothy 1:7)
·If need provision- Lord I receive Your supply
·In spiritual warfare- Lord I’ve put on your Armor,
·When weak- Lord I receive Your strength. Quiet often I pray Samson’s prayer, especially when I have deadlines to meet; Lord strengthen me one more time (Judges 16:28)
·Go to sleep saying –Lord I receive safety as I sleep (Psalm 3:5)
·Wake up every morning declaring-Lord I receive Your goodness and mercy that are new for today (Psalm 23.6)
·No matter what is going on around me-Lord I am dwelling in your house (Psalm, 23:6, Psalm 91:1-2)

Once you’ve prayed, watch out for the answer, it may come through an idea, through a person, a thought, a Scripture, instructions on what to do, a word of knowledge, a new revelation. Just stay receptive. God responds to His promises.

This week, identity a promise that speaks to the area of your need then only believe and receive. Let this be a prayer of thanksgiving. Saying Lord, my God are meeting all my needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19. So with thanksgiving, I receive Your supplies for me! Philippians 4:6

My CEU this week is receiving what God has already supplied in abundance for me. I tell you this has changed my prayer life!
