SPEAK TO YOUR MIND; SPEAK TO YOUR EMOTIONS

Last Thursday I woke up in a funk, whining about everything possible, I mean just going on and on and on. Then I realized something; that the more I whined and complained the more my body and emotions begun to conform to what I was saying. I mean I could sense what my bad attitude was doing to body.

The suddenly I remembered that I am setting the tone for this entire day. Then I recalled a teaching I had just heard from Pastor Chris Oyakhilome; that “you are responsible for where you are”. Disclaimer: – I am quoting Ps Chris in the context of this blog only. So anyways, right away, I switched to a prayer of thanksgiving. I started thanking the Lord for everything. Then I reflected on Ps Chris’s message again and turned the prayer to commanding my spirit to align with the Word of God. I told my body straighten up, I told my mind strengthen yourself, I spoke to my mind and body and said receive strength, received power. I told my emotions lighten up. Then I heard the Holy Spirit say “rejoice in the Lord always”. OOH, then I proceeded to tell my body, mind and heart to rejoice in the Lord. As I prayed by body, emotions started to get lively, my attitude changed; a metamorphosis was taking place. It’s like a switch went off, turned 180 degrees. Then I sighed, you mean this was all a matter of my mind?

As I ended the prayer I heard the Holy Spirit singing in me, “Bless the Lord, Oh my soul and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name”. So I joined the Holy Spirit and we sang this line together over and over all day into Friday. As I got to work, I noticed my to-do list had major items that needed to be addressed. My mind stayed alert and sharp in meetings and in systems and processes I needed to develop. At the end of the work day on Friday evening; I testified, that “it had been a good day, God is good”

James 3: 1-6 THE POWER OF THE TONGUE-this week if your thoughts say anything contrary to what God says about you. Stop right there, speak to your thoughts, speak to your emotions. Engage the Holy Spirit, speak in tongues, experience the 180 degree turn around; in the Name of Jesus! All things are possible to them who BELIEVE! Mark 9:23

GOD HAS NOT CHANGED HIS MIND ABOUT YOU

Most of the time when we don’t see things coming through for us we may think that God has changed His mind on us. At times, also when we think we are far away and disconnected with God, we also think He has disconnected with us. Both are lies, God is always there for you and His plans for you have not changed!

The reason God will never change His Word concerning you is because He has sworn to do what He said. His Word does return void without performing what It was sent to do Whatever He said about God’s destiny and purpose for you. So, take courage and know that God’s plans to prosper you are still active, God’s plan protect you are still present, God’s plans for Hope are happening, God’s plans for your future are in motion.

Among the keys to walking in this plan and will of God is understanding what the will of God for you is. It starts by accepting Jesus as Lord and savior. It also starts by reading the Word of God, reading the Bible. The Word of God is God’s will for you. The second thing that leads to enjoying the fullness of this plan is understanding of your IDENTITY in the Christ you have just received. Your identity is what God designed you to be , who, whom and what you are in God.

No matter how far you think you are, God’s got you. No matter how late you think it is, God is timeless, a day in like 1000 years, and 1000yrs like a day. He is never far; instead always closer than a brother. He has not changed His mind about the prayer request, about your destiny or about the plans He has for you. He remains a good, good Father. Like the prodigals’ son father to the older son, “you always have the inheritance”

This week, keep the faith. START where you are, reconnect with Him. Start to pray, start to read the Bible, go to mid-week services in church, start going to church, start the business, start the vision, start school. Just start. God is not only watching, He has not changed His mind on you or the issue.

LAST CHANCE WORKOUT

The Biggest Loser remains my favorite TV show mostly because of the thrill of the transformation the contestants made. The show motivated me in fitness and I also learned some tips that I incorporated into my life. The biggest thrill was the “last chance workout”, it was the last exercise routine before the weigh in. Contestants, though exhausted, pushed themselves to optimize the needed weight loss to win the price.

As you work towards your goals or vision, it could be that by now, you have exhausted all you’ve got. There is a rush that comes with wanting to meet your goal. This exhaustion may come when you are close to the finish line; the final lap. It may require travailing, pushing through while you can’t just wait it get done; “oh if I could only wrap this up” you say.

My encouragement to you this week is to consider the prize that it ahead. Consider the payoff. The outcome is normally worth it. So, push through your studies, push through the homework, push through the business plan, push through the research paper or dissertation; push through the project deadline. If a challenge or obstacle comes while pushing, invite your Advocate and Helper the Holy Spirit to strengthen and guide you. Disperse the angels God has assigned you to assist also. Considerate as your last chance work out; the great price is right in front of you. Consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. Romans 8:18

BETWEEN THE PRAYER AND THE PROMISE

Often people will question what they should in the period between the initial prayer and answer. Frankly this most challenging position and the most frustrating and dry period; especially if you have waited for so long. My encouragement to you this week is to stay consistent over this period.

100% of these blogs are from personal experience of what God is teaching and sharing with me. Most of these lessons take place when I am just up and about doing errands or while reflecting. This lesson was one of them, I was walking from one room to the next while I received this. That the best thing to do while waiting for the breakthrough, answer of promise is to stay consistent in faith;

Stay consistent in your daily devotion in reading the Bible and prayer-A perfect example were Zachariah and Elizabeth despite not having children, they stayed consistent serving the Lord “were both righteous in the sight of God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and requirements of the Lord.” (Luke 1:6)

Stay consistent in the assignment God has given you- King David reminds me of this commitment. That even after being anointed for the first time as king, he returned to do his initial assignment as a shepherd until the appointed time came. Continue to faithfully doing your assignment, continue to dream, expand and fine tune what God has given you, don’t hold back and don’t quit. Serve God fully in your current position.

Pursue God and Serve God in your capacity in want and in abundance- Apostle Paul reminds me of this when he says I know how to abound in lack and in abundance. Bill Johnson teaches on this too. In one of his books Bill wrote, pray and seek God just as much when things are ok, just as you would pray and seek God when things are bad; this really changed my perception of God and for ministry. To stay consistent at all time

Activate and Increase praise, worship and thanksgiving during this period- There are times that “warring in prayer stops”, petitioning stops, decreeing and declaring stops, prophesying stops, but Ohh the power of praise, worship and thanksgiving. This is the position king Jehoshaphat took 2 Chronicles 20; 22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon. (Please read whole chapter 2Chronicles 20)

You are being matured and prepared for the promise-Biblical accounts of Joseph and David remind us of this. Would you agree that both Joseph and David served in various capacities in preparation for the higher positions? The waiting period then is likely a training and maturing period in preparation for your promise

Keep your focus on Jesus and not the issue-All battles belong to our Lord. Keeping our focus on Jesus is a form of surrender; telling the Lord we have submitted the issue to Him; trusting He will bring forth the deliverables!

Remember, there comes the fullness of time – In the fullness of time Isaac was born, in the fullness of time Jesus was born! Some delays are a result of God waiting for the appointed time, the right timing. At the appointed time, I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. “Genesis 18:14

In the fullness of time, at the appointed time, your answer is coming. Stay Consistent
